Salad Days
This zine looks into the cultural and symbolic aspects of food: religious and ritualistic elements, how we use it to alter our state of mind, and how our economic standing influences how we appreciate food. We assign meaning to food in many areas, by seeing it through the eyes of a chef, a psychologist, an artist. The symbolism of food can be shown through elements of surrealism and magic realism-- food is something we explore through all of our senses, and the purpose of surrealism is to create something symbolic and sensory.
